Contraceptive Q&A With Dr. Feldman and Dr. Barber

Dr. Kristen Feldman, Afaxys’ Vice President of Medical Affairs, sat down with Dr. Jennifer Barber to discuss Dr. Barber’s latest research in reproductive healthcare within young relationships, and the impacts of reliable and accessible contraception.

Dr. Barber is a Professor of Sociology and a Senior Scientist at the Kinsey Institute. Dr. Barber’s research and teaching interests lie at the intersection of family sociology, demography, and social psychology, with a focus on young pregnancy, intimate relationships, reproductive control, and intimate partner violence. Dr. Barber won the American Sociological Association’s Family Section’s “Article of the Year” in 2020 for her article, “The Dynamics of Intimate Partner Violence and the Risk of Pregnancy during the Transition to Adulthood,” published in the American Sociological Review.

Dr. Feldman is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist who joined the Afaxys team in 2020. She completed her Obstetrics/Gynecology residency at Duke University Medical Center, spent seven years in private practice in Raleigh/Durham, then led Women’s Health at North Carolina State University’s Student Health Services for eight years. She is a practicing obstetrician/gynecologist with Carolina Gynecology
